Existing door supervisors and security guards must undertake an SIA Top Up Training in order to renew their SIA license. Part of the SIA changes also require licence holders to have an Emergency First Aid Certificate
Top-up training is a mandatory additional training program required to renew your SIA (Security Industry Authority) license. Starting from October 1st, SIA has changed the license renewal process, making it compulsory for security professionals to complete the top-up training course. The course aims to refresh and update individuals’ knowledge with the latest industry regulations, laws, and best practices. The SIA Top Up Training will bring Door Supervisors up to the same level of training as those who completed a course and qualification after August 2015.
The SIA Top Up Training course is a 2-day program, and individuals are required to complete a workbook before attending the face-to-face classroom training. The course is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively and efficiently, ensuring the highest standards of security are maintained.
A First Aid Course is a training program designed to teach individuals how to provide initial emergency care to someone who is injured or ill before professional medical help arrives. The course covers essential skills and techniques to help stabilize the person’s condition, prevent further harm, and save their life. The course includes training on how to assess an emergency situation, perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), control bleeding, manage fractures, burns, and other medical emergencies. The duration of the course varies depending on the level of certification, ranging from basic first aid to advanced courses that require several days of training. The First Aid Course is ideal for anyone who wishes to learn how to respond to medical emergencies, including security personnel, teachers, parents, and employees working in high-risk environments.
